Congratulations President Elect Obama

I join Senator McCain in congratulating our new President, Barack Hussein Obama. I wish him great luck, wisdom and courage as he leads us to the post-racial, post partisan America that he has guaranteed will come with his election.

Those of us who have supported his opponent, John McCain are waiting anxiously for President Elect Obama to reach across the aisle to us and be will ing to compromise gfor the betterment of America.

I urge President Elect Obama to reject the highly partisan politics of Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer and find areas where he can embrace the political ideals of Senator McCain, and other Republicans.

Perhaps the first place he should start is appointments to the US Supreme Court. I look forward to a President Obama holding himself to the same standard on judicial appointments that he has held President Bush. Then Senator Obama said that while he felt that Chief Justice Roberts and Justice Alito were emminently qualified, they did not meet his litmus test as the most liberal member of the Senate.

I look forward to President Obama nominating Supreme Court Justices that are not only as qualified as Roberts and Alito but are also acceptable to the most conservative members of Senate as he insisted of President Bush.

As a citizen of this great country, I applaud the success of President Elect Obama and will respect the Office of the Presidency. I will also respect President Obama as he earns my respect each and every day.

Unfortunately I fear I will be sorely disappointed.
